Annual Conference 2009
The Federation of Bakers held their 8th Annual Conference on Wednesday,
20th May 2009 at the Dorchester Hotel, London W1 which highlighted and addressed the issues
currently facing the industry.
This year's event was attended by an audience of over 100 senior baking
&
milling industry representatives, major retailers, sister trade
associations,
civil servants & trade press.
This event has become a key date in the industry diary and this year speakers
included CBI Deputy Director-General, John Cridland CBE; Dr. Susan Jebb OBE,
Head of Nutrition and Health Research at the Medical
Research Council and Scott Clarke, Category Director - Bakery, Tesco who presented throughout the morning.

The ever popular panel debate took place before lunch where the key issues
facing the industry were debated in an open forum.
A drinks reception followed at 12.30pm, concluded by lunch with special guest
speaker, Tim Smith, Chief Executive of the Food Standards Agency.
