A new study has found that eating brown bread or wholegrain cereals three times
a day cuts the risk of bowel cancer by a fifth. Scientists found that a
high-fibre diet offers significant protection against the disease, the third most common

Here's a toast to toast, our favourite breakfast
A report into the breakfast market by analysts Mintel found that 81 per cent of
people said toast was their favourite food in the morning. Alex Beckett, its
senior food analyst, said: “Toast is the most popular breakfast option for Britons,
eaten by eight in 10 consumers.” Mintel's report said toast has a stronger appeal
among women, of whom 84 per cent say it is their favourite breakfast, compared to
