New FOB Chairman faces exciting times for the bread industry
The Federation of Bakers elected new chairman, Paul Molyneux, at its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 23 May 2012. Molyneux, of Premier Foods , takes over from Mark Fairweather, from the Allied Milling and Baking Group, who has filled the role for the past two years.
Molyneux commented on his appointment: "I am very much looking forward to taking on the role of Chairman of the Federation of Bakers and the exciting and challenging times we have ahead.
"It already gives me great delight to see the bread industry forever changing to meet the demands of the consumer, who continue to support our industry at the tills. New products come to market regularly to keep the industry alive and relevant and I have long been impressed by the innovation behind new product development to keep the industry exciting and progressive."
Paul Molyneux joined Rank Hovis Ltd as a trainee wheat buyer and spent time in production management before moving into technical management. In 2001, Paul became Rank Hovis Technical Director.
In 2004 Paul was made Divisional Technical Director across the Hovis division of Premier Foods. In 2010 Paul was made responsible for innovation within Hovis.
Paul has chaired the technical panels for both the milling and plant bread industry's in the UK. He has also been a council member of Campden BRI.
